Treat your pet, too! At Cabarrus Brewing Company, pick up a bag of Brew Bonz Spent Grain Dog Treats. The initiative benefits local animal rescue organizations. In downtown Kannapolis, Old Armor Brewing Company partners with neighboring Eat Cakes Bakery, which uses their spent grains to make dog treats. Eat Cakes also offers “pupcakes” and specialty birthday cakes for dogs.
Many local trails and parks across Cabarrus County welcome pets to enjoy the outdoors. Open dawn to dusk, Weddington Road Bark Park features space for both small and large dogs to play and is within walking distance to several hotels in the Exit 49 area. As part of their exciting promotional schedule, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers host select “Bark in the Park” nights when dogs are welcome to enjoy a night of fun at Atrium Health Ballpark. The City of Concord has also hosted a “Dogs’ Day Out Festival” with previous festivities including pet portrait character artists, a doggie fun zone for off-leash play, free puppuccinos, food and raffle baskets, music, and more.
